Are you preparing to go for camping? Are all your preparations in order? Have you made the reservations already? Perhaps, for your safety, you would need to note down these tips before that day comes.

Inspect the site.
Before camping, ensure that you take time to look at the campsite before camp time reaches. This will give you more light on what to expect or what not to expect or both. Prima facie (first sight) of the site is never advisable.
You need to find out if the campsite has all or most of what you are looking for in a campsite. Things to do with safety need to be given priority.

Travel before day fades out.
You will need to get moving early to get to the campsite before dark fades in. this will help you make all the necessary preparations; such as finding an appropriate place to put up your tent, putting everything in order among other things.

Lookout for hazards.
At the campsite, ensure that you are on the lookout for potential hazards. Since you are stationed somewhere far from homesteads, you will need to ensure that every one in your group is safe. The safety of members should be first priority. Check for broken glass, nails and other thing that could injure you and your members in a group.

Build fires in open places.
As I told you earlier, you need to get to your campsite early – before dark, this will help you find an open place to build a fire, first to keep you warm and second to give you light. You should know that you are surrounded by flammable objects so avoid building fires near tents surround you.
To add, ensure that this built fire is attended to for your safety and your members’.

Do not just drink, first think!
You are staged in the middle of the forest with  flowing streams, but do you know how safe this running water is to your health and your members’? however clearer it could seem, mind about your health.
Running streams carry along microorganisms and other dangerous bacteria that could cause all sorts of illnesses
Ensure that you carry clean safe to drink water with you to avoid these water borne illnesses and the like.

Watch out for pests.
You should know by now that you are in pest territory so long as you are on a campsite. Be on the lookout for all sorts of pests that could be harmful to your health. Bugs, flee among others are no exception.
Additionally, you may be exposed to stinging insects, some of which carry poison in their stings. Ensure that you keep a distance from beehives if you notice they are close to you.

Beware of poisonous plants.
When camping, it is advisable that you do not just pick any plant look at as some are poisonous. Besides the poisonous ones, others do sting. These could severely affect you to the extent of cutting your camp short.

Beware of wild animals.
Has it ever crossed your mind that some wild animals (especially crawling ones) live close to us without us noticing it/them? Now you are camping where they [may] exist in plenty. Some reptiles like snakes are so identical to the vegetation we are used to; hence, it could be hard to identify them. Be on the lookout! Remember, safety first! 

         That said [and done], you will be guaranteed a joyous and adventurous camp on any campsite anywhere. Remember you are going to have fun, do not freak out because of the above but just lookout for anything close to them, these tips are there to keep you safe.
